LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution announced on the 21st that they were selected as the preferred bidder for the supply of submarine cables for the Taean Offshore Wind Power Plant in South Chungcheong Province.
Taean Offshore Wind Power Plant is a large-scale offshore wind farm with a capacity of approximately 500 MW being built off the coast of Geunheung-myeon, Taean-gun, South Chungcheong Province by Vena Energy, a Singapore-based renewable energy company. The project is targeted for completion in 2029.
LS Cable will supply submarine cables and LS Marine Solution will take charge of construction, with the two companies providing an integrated solution encompassing design, production, and construction to maximize the efficiency and stability of the project.
LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution demonstrate differentiated competitiveness in the offshore wind power market by providing one-stop solutions from design to construction based on their accumulated global experience and technological capabilities, which have been proven in the longest submarine cable construction project in Korea.

The government recently announced a bidding plan for a total of 7-8 GW of offshore wind power projects by 2026. In line with this, LS Cable & System is strengthening cooperation with global offshore wind power developers, and continues to take a leading role in the domestic offshore wind power market.
