LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution announced on the 16th that they will participate in the 2026 World Climate Industry Expo - Carbon Neutral Expo, to be held at BEXCO in Busan from September 16 to 18, where they will showcase technologies and ESG activities for carbon neutrality ranging from eco-friendly power grids to resource circulation. 

The centerpiece of the exhibition is a one-stop integrated power grid that connects renewable energy production all the way to final power consumption. The companies will also exhibit major power grid technologies such as submarine cables that transmit power from offshore wind farms to land and superconducting cables that transmit large-capacity power efficiently. 

Notably, LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution are the only domestic companies that have commercialized, respectively, 500 kV extra-high voltage direct current (HVDC) cables and HVDC submarine cable installation. 

The companies will also introduce their recyclable polypropylene (PP) cables and Cuflake®, both eco-friendly materials. PP cables reduce the environmental burden of existing cable materials, while Cuflake®, developed by LS Cable & System, is a world-first copper foil raw material that utilizes copper scrap to reduce both processing steps and energy consumption. 

In the resource circulation sector, the companies will exhibit cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation recycling technology for waste cables. They will also visually demonstrate the process of turning waste cables into new resources through crafts made from recycled copper in collaboration with a brassware artisan from Anseong. 

The event will also include hands-on ESG programs, such as making keyrings from waste plastics and performances by the Vesol Art Troupe, a troupe of vocational artists with disabilities managed by LS Cable & System.
